Schuhe und Taschen kann Frau nie genug haben, oder? Nun ja, bei Schuhen trifft das durchaus zu, bei Taschen war ich in letzter Zeit tatsächlich zurückhaltend. Könnte auch an der vollen Schublade unter dem Bett liegen, oder auch daran, dass ich vor einiger Zeit eine Lieblingstasche genäht habe. Das hat mich bisher immer noch davon abgehalten, eine neue Tasche zu nähen. Warum es dann doch eine neue Tasche gibt? Na weil meine Lieblingstasche doch nicht alles kann! Ich fahre noch ein zweirädriges, motorisiertes Fahrzeug und mit diesem oft in die Arbeit. Beim fahren trage ich da gerne einen Rucksack, da ist alles gut aufgehoben. In der Mittagspause will ich dann aber wieder lieber eine Handtasche haben… Deshalb habe ich die letzten Jahre immer noch eine extrige Handtasche, neben den Wechselklamotten, in meinem Rucksack mitgeschleift.
Shoes and handbags are things, women can’t have enough, or? Okay, that thing with the shoes is right, I think. But with handbags I was thrifty in the past! It could be because of my full drawer under my bed or because I have sewn a favorite bag a little time ago. Why there is now a new bag? Because sometimes I ride my motorcycle to work. While driving I prefer to wear a backpack, but at lunchtime I prefer a handbag. That’s why i have token my handbag in the backpack in the past.
Durch Zufall bin ich dann aber auf den Retro Rucksack gestoßen. Der ist mit wenigen Handgriffen eine Handtasche oder ein Rucksack, je nachdem was man braucht. Und das Design finde ich richtig toll! Wie ein Retro Rucksack halt aussehen muss 😉
By hazard i have found the Retro Rucksack-pattern. With a few handles it is a backpack or a handbag. And i really like the design!
Also habe ich mich an die Umsetzung gemacht. Wie gesagt, meine Taschennäherfahrung ist eine Weile her und am Anfang war ich etwas schockiert, was ich da alles brauche… Nicht nur so viele Teile zum ausschneiden, sondern auch das ganze Kleinzeugs das so anfällt… Da eine Schnalle, da ein Ring… Da musste ich erstmal eine Großbestellung aufgeben.
And so i started to sew… My experience in sewing handbags is a little time ago and at the beginning i was really shocked how many things i need… A lot of pattern-pieces and buckles, rings… I had to make a real big order!
Dann hatte ich mir was ganz tolles überlegt: Ich laminiere den Stoff mit einer speziellen Folie, die dann einem Wachstuch gleicht. Das ist doch perfekt bei einer Tasche, vor allen Dingen weil weiß ja auch anfällig für Schmutz ist. Leider hat der Stoff dann aber mit der Folie keine Einheit gebildet, sondern es hat alles nur geraschelt und sah billig aus. Natürlich war da die Tasche aber schon genäht und als ich mich entschloss, die Folie wieder wegzumachen musste ich sie aus jeder Naht rausfuzzeln… An den Stellen, an denen der Stoff verdeckt ist raschelt es leider immer noch ein wenig… Nunja, besser wie überall. Ansonsten gefiel mir die Tasche gut. Beim ersten Ausflug war ich jedoch enttäuscht. Ja, es funktioniert als Rucksack. Als Tasche rutschen jedoch die Träger durch und die Tasche fällt zusammen. So wollte ich das nicht! Also habe ich doch in den sauren Apfel gebissen und nochmal ein wenig aufgetrennt und einen zweiten Ring eingezogen. Dann den Bändel verdreht und angenäht. Wieder aufgetrennt und neu angenäht. Und jetzt funktioniert das wirklich als Tasche und als Rucksack! Dauert aber auch einen Moment länger, bis es umgebaut ist, aber das ist es mir wert!
Then i considered a really cool thing: a special foil, that laminates the fabric, to get a fabric like oilcloth. I thought it could be a good idea, because of the white fabric and dirt. But unfortunately it doesn’t works and it crackled and looked shabby. Naturally the handbag was finished when i started to remove it… Apart from that i really liked the bag! But at my first trip with the bag, i was a little bit dissapointed. As backpack it works really good! But as handbag the shoulder strip slides through the one ring. So i decided to make the extra work and unstitch it and insert a second ring. Then i sewed the shoulder string the wrong way… Unstitch again, sew it new. And now it works! It takes a few moments more to change from handbag to backpack, but it is it worth!
Und dann bin ich dann auf die Idee gekommen das ich mein Label mit an die Tasche machen könnte. Und das gefällt mir richtig, richtig gut! Wie ich das Label gemacht habe? Auf die Idee hat mich Veronika mal gebracht und das mit dem Stempelkissen und dem Leder funktioniert auch bei mir wunderbar! Sogar an Klamotten, das habe ich nämlich auch schon getestet! Es ist also tatsächlich waschbeständig.
And than i get the idea to stitch my leather-label to the front of the bag. And i really like it a lot! How i made the label? Thats an idea of Veronika, unfortunately only in german, but maybe you can understand it with the pictures or a translator. It works really good, also at my clothes!
Verwendet habe ich Kunstleder und den beste Ikea-Stoff, den es gibt! Ich liebe diese Streifen! Leider ist mein Vorrat damit jetzt auch ziemlich erschöpft. Innen ist im Übrigen auch ein Ikea-Stöffchen. Und mein geplottetes Label…
I have token false-leather and a loved fabric from Ikea! I love this stripes! Unfortunately my stock is empty now… At the inside there is also Ikea-Fabric. And my label out of flex-folia.
Nun ist die Tasche schon einige Tage in Verwendung und ich würde das Innenleben tatsächlich noch um zwei, drei weitere Innentaschen erweitern. Vermutlich wäre auch ein Schlüsselband noch ganz geschickt, dass fest eingenäht ist. Ob mich das irgendwann so stört, dass ich es tatsächlich ändere, weiß ich nicht. Vermutlich eher nein, aber wenn ihr die Tasche/Rucksack nähen solltet, wisst ihr Bescheid!

Now the bag is used a few days and i would like to change the inside a little bit: a few more extra bags and a string for my keys. But i don’t think, that i will change this at this bag. But for you i wanted to say it!
